Compassionate Psychotherapy to Help You Find Peace and Happiness

Linda Girimonte is a therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Sayville, NY. Linda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been practicing psychotherapy since 2015. She received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus.

Linda is truly passionate about helping clients discover self awareness and wholeness for a deeper sense of healing. Her approach is a blend of traditional psychotherapy, positive psychology, mindfulness, and spirituality in order to help others feel “whole” again. She assists her clients to utilize the mind/body connection to overcome trauma, manage stress, thrive emotionally, and create the life they desire.

She has a clinical interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps patients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. She does believe that it’s not just about analyzing the emotional state or changing thoughts and behaviors. It’s about all the ways in which people interact with their world and their overall sense of being. She guides her clients toward self-awareness that leads to self-discovery and healing.

Previous to working as an LMHC, Linda worked at Developmental Disabilities Institute as an Applied Behavior Specialist. She has worked with adults and children experiencing emotional and behavioral disorders, including Learning Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She then continued her career to working with families that were displaced from their homes. As a case manager in a homeless shelter she was able to assist families in identifying short and long term goals, secure employment and obtain permanent housing. She has a wide range of life and educational experiences rooted in helping individuals, families, and couples from a variety of backgrounds and age demographics.

Linda loves to learn and continues to attend workshops, trainings, and seminars to increase her capacity to serve.
